Sing Birdies Sing!

“That’s a terrible place for a bird’s nest,” remarked my neighbor—referring to the robin’s nest on top of our door wreath.”

“Well, I didn’t put it there!” I said with a grin.

The newest members of our family are a delight because they come at a time when our nest is soon to be truly empty (Jon graduates next weekend and will be leaving for his job in Cleveland, Ohio). I love the diversion the birdies have provided during this transition time and the joy they bring each morning as they belt out their praises.

“Mama Robin” is attentive to their every need and keeps a watchful eye on them from treetop to rooftop when she’s fetching food. Each time the door opens, their little mouths open widely waiting for mama to bring them yummy worms as snacks. This morning, one of them opened its eyes and for a moment, I thought that baby robin winked right back at me.

Soon they will fly out of the nest for life on their own, but the memories of my baby birdies will continue to sing in my heart.

Such a PRECIOUS photo!

We have a bird's nest inside the lid on our propane tank. The company came to fill it a few weeks ago, and he saw eggs in it, but the mama bird squawked at him from the fence the whole time he was there. Hubby advised me not to open it again to get pictures, but I saw the parents flying in and out carrying food, so I guess the babies finally hatched! But no pictures! :-(

I posted part 3 of your interview today. Thanks so much for taking time to share with us. You're one very special woman, and I'm honored to call you friend.

Blessings & Happy Mother's Day!

Thanks, Tracy!

I think I'm becoming a bird lover--what do you think?

My husband calls it my new obsession! :) The birdies are growing so quickly. I predict they will probably fly out of the nest just as we leave to go to Jon's graduation next weekend. I think I have a Chicken Soup story brewing! ;)

Thanks for the privilege of being interviewed by you; it was so much FUN!

Blessings and joy for a glorious Mom's Day!

HUGS!

Oh Connie!
You've got me close to tears. I can't imagine seeing my guys leave the nest. I think the Lord gave you this experience, at this time. You're nurturing the baby birds, when you need to feel the nurturing experience. Beautiful, He is amazing!

The birdies are precious. We had a nest in our door wreath when we returned from vacation, several years ago. Unfortunately, the mother, who thought she had the place all to herself, left when we came home. The boys were about 4 and 8 at the time, and we grieved over the lost birdies, and experience they missed out on.

We are bird lovers, we have a pair of parakeets that are really fun to watch. They have a love/hate relationship. She keeps him in line. I knew she was female before their markings appeared, by the way she literally "henpecked" him!
Their names are Bloo (Blue) and Nellie.

I wanted to let you know that I just published your article, "Art of Living Passionately", on the new Passionate for Life, at http://passionateforlife.com/magazine

Oh,Dana. The birds are just about ready to leave the nest. I literally take pictures by the hour because they are changing so quickly. I think that Mama Robin made the nest too small (or maybe that's the idea!). My neighbor warned me that we need to go out the backdoor from now on because they could fly in the house when we open the door.

Yep, I feel like a mother "hen" --sharing my babies with the world.

I need to call you! Thanks so much for publishing my article; I'll be right on over!
